Give me a good book and a warm blanket and I have the capablity to forget about everything else :P .
Being an introvert kid, I found my solace in reading books and writing small poems. I have always been an avid reader even voracious at times (My personal record being- reading 31 novels in 30 days :P )
My collection after a visit to a book fair :)
‘The world belongs to those who read’. Reading gives me an escape from routine and the opportunity to explore the unexplored. I like reading a wide variety of genres, which help expand my thinking horizons and help me analyze situations with different perspectives. Ayn Rand’s books inspire me to strive hard and outperform myself every time, while books by Mitch Albom help me develop insights into human nature and its fallacies and are a slice of life. I particularly love reading books based on Indian Mythology not only because of their sheer magnanimity but I feel that their messages are still relevant.
As a reader, I enjoy reading books of a wide variety of genres- from Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged to tales from Indian Mythology (Like The Shiva Triology, The Palace of Ilusions), from Autobiographies to mystery novels and Amar Chitra Kathas. (Ping me if you are looking for a book recommendation!).
I also enjoy reading poems specially hindi patriotic poetry- Personal favourites: Rashmirathi by Ramdhari Singh Dinakar, Jhansi ki Rani by Subhadra Kumari Chauhan and Khooni Hastashkar by Gopal Prasad Vyas
